Cast Iron B-1SP / Cast Aluminum B-1BarryCraft Construction Casting Company's abrasive stair nosings and treads are designed for areas which are subjected to heavy foot traffic such as schools, public buildings, subways and shopping malls. BarryCraft Construction Casting Company's stair nosings and treads are attractively designed, non-corrosive, economically installed and will last virtually the life of the building.

Cast Abrasive Nosings & Treads:
Short form specifications

Nosings / treads will be BarryCraft Alumatread or Feratread style as manufactured by Barry Pattern & Foundry Co, Birmingham, AL. Surface will have silicon carbide abrasive, a minimum of 2-1/4ounces per square foot to a minimum of 1/32 of an inch.

All castings will be of uniform quality, free from blow holes, shrinkage defects, swells, cracks, or other defects. Treads will be true to pattern. Casting material will be of high quality iron or aluminum. Castings will be free of fins, burrs and slag. Cast iron will have one coat of black paint, aluminum will have a natural sand cast finish.

Widths available: 3" and 4" are standard. Other widths available from 2" to 12".

Standard surface: Cross-hatched abrasive.

Other surfaces available: Plain or fluted abrasive - must be specified.

Standard anchor for fresh concrete: Wing anchor.

Available anchor: Cast on bolt - must be specified.

Standard anchor for set concrete: Expansion shield or 1/4" Tapcon anchor.

Curb bar is used primarily as heavy-duty curb protector, but can also be used as a stair nosing. Maximum length is 5'6" long. Cast on anchor is standard.
